RACE 1: Harrolds Victory Vein Plate 1000m:

Eastern Wind – Slow to begin.

Gravina – Near the 700m was steadied from the heels of Prime Star.

Murungal – Rider J. Ford advised that the colt jumped awkwardly, lost ground at the start and, as a consequence, from the outside barrier, he was obliged to settle further back than he had intended. He added that Murungal hung out in the middle stages, particularly on the home turn, and raced greenly throughout the event. He further said that, as a consequence, the colt was unable to finish the race off as had been expected. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Stewards will follow up in the days subsequent on the post-race condition and immediate race plans for Murungal.

Prime Star – Near the 900m was steadied when momentarily crowded by Time Is Precious (G. Boss), which shifted in. G. Boss was advised to exercise more care. Leaving the 800m Diamond Kat shifted out after being crossed by Time Is Precious, resulting in Prime Star being hampered and taken out. Approaching the 200m raced in restricted room between Postcode and Tommy Gold, both of which shifted ground slightly. H. Bowman, the rider of Gravina, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that inside the 200m he improved into a run between Prime Star and Postcode where there was not sufficient room resulting in Prime Star losing its running and having to be steadied by its rider B. Avdulla. H. Bowman's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence immediately and to expire on Friday 25 October 2019, on which day he may ride.

Tommy Gold – Began awkwardly and then was hampered by Postcode, which shifted out. Raced wide and without cover throughout the event. For a short distance near the 100m was hampered when taken out by Gravina when that runner shifted out.

Diamond Kat – Near the 350m was steadied when crowded between Eastern Wind and Gravina (H. Bowman) which shifted in. Stewards found that the racing manners of Diamond Kat had contributed significantly to the incident, however, H. Bowman was advised to exercise more care. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

RACE 2: Task Retail Technology Handicap 2000m:

Humbolt Current – Began awkwardly. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider J. McDonald advised that when the race developed into a sprint home the gelding was unable to quicken and did not finish the race off as expected. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

Super Tycoon – Slow to begin and, from the outside barrier, was then shifted behind runners in the early stages.

Johnny Vinko – Began awkwardly.

Miss Moana – Began awkwardly and, from a wide barrier, was then shifted behind runners in the early stages.

Duchess Of Lennox – Slow to begin and, from a wide barrier, was then shifted behind runners and raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 1600m became awkward when racing to the inside of Lady Cuvee, shifted out and had to be steadied away from the heels of that runner. In the straight laid in.

RACE 3: TAB Highway Handicap 1100m:

Can't Find Snippy – Began awkwardly. Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.

Burning Crown – reared in the barriers, made heavy contact with its jaw on the front gates of its barrier and was a late scratching on veterinary advice at 1.46 p.m. The Stewards ruled that all moneys invested on Burning Crown be refunded in full and that all successful wagers made between 1.44 p.m. and 1.46 p.m. be subject to the following deductions from the face value of each ticket:

1st Feel The Knight - 18 cents win, 17 cents place

2nd Lady Demi - 17 cents

3rd Screen Shot - 17 cents

Irish Songs – From a wide barrier, shifted behind runners in the early stages.

Equal Balance – From the outside barrier, shifted behind runners in the early stages.

Zardoro – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Between the 400m and the 200m was held up for clear running. Inside the 200m was steadied when disappointed for clear running between Acquittal and Art Of Dance, and was shifted back to the inside of Acquittal to obtain clear running approaching the 150m.

Gumshoe – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.

Hit The Target – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.

The Drake – After being loaded into the barriers, reared and slipped behind, resulting in the gelding becoming cast under the barriers. The Drake was a late scratching at 1.44 p.m. on veterinary advice. Acquittal, Art Of Dance and Screen Shot, which were all drawn in the vicinity of The Drake, were examined by the club's veterinary officer and deemed suitable to race. The Stewards ruled that all moneys invested on The Drake be refunded in full and that all successful wagers made prior to 1.44 p.m. be subject to the following deductions from the face value of each ticket:

1st Feel The Knight - 22 cents win, 22 cents place

2nd Lady Demi - 22 cents

3rd Screen Shot - 22 cents

Lady Demi – Slow to begin and, shortly afterwards, after initially being taken in by Danzibar Dancer, shifted in and away from that runner. Between the 400m and the 250m was held up for clear running.

Acquittal – Raced keenly in the middle stages.

Plonka – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event. When questioned regarding his riding, B. Looker confirmed that the intention was to ride the gelding quieter, but when caught wide in the early stages he elected to try to maintain a forward position in order to seek cover behind Can't Find Snippy. He added that when Can't Find Snippy continued forward and shifted in at the 800m, Plonka was left racing five wide and without cover for the remainder of the event. He added that in the straight Plonka weakened principally due to its wide run but also may not have backed up from its last start on 11 October. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

Danzibar Dancer – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event. Trainer Mr J. Louizos was reprimanded for failing to make application at acceptance time, in accordance with Racing NSW policy, for L. Magorrian to ride the mare ½ kilogram over its allotted weight.

Legendofoz – From a wide barrier, shifted behind runners in the early stages. Between the 300m and the 200m had difficulty obtaining clear running.

RACE 4: Bisley Workwear Reginald Allen Quality 1400m:

Maddi Rocks – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Rider T. Berry stated that, although the filly was three wide with no cover, it did not travel well throughout the event. He added that in the straight he had some concerns with its action. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr C. Waller confirmed that the filly will now be spelled and undertook to report back on the post-race condition of the filly in the days subsequent.

Still Single – Rider J. McDonald stated that, whilst his intention was to be more forward, Still Single raced fiercely in the early stages and refused to settle, despite his efforts. He added that, as a consequence, he was obliged to lead on the filly, but was unable to finish the race off due to the fast tempo that was set in the early stages. J. McDonald stated that, in his opinion, the filly would be better suited dropping back in distance and ridden more conservatively. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr C. Waller agreed with the assessment of J. McDonald and confirmed that the filly will be dropped back in distance where it will be ridden more conservatively. Mr Waller will report back if anything is amiss in the days subsequent.

Betcha Flying – From the outside barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages. From the 350m to the 250m was held up for clear running.

Aesop's Fable – Slow to begin and then was bumped by Akari and lost ground.

Akari – Bumped with Aesop's Fable on jumping. Laid in over the final 150 metres.

RACE 5: The Kosciuszko 1200m:

Victorem – Began awkwardly.

Belflyer – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.

Noble Boy – Slow to begin. Approaching the 200m improved into a narrow run between Victorem and Handle The Truth, and then raced tight between those runners until near the 100m. Leaving the 100m was inconvenienced and shifted back to the inside of Handle The Truth (N. Rawiller) when that runner shifted out. N. Rawiller was advised to exercise more care.

Don't Give A Damn – Began awkwardly.

Bobbing – Between the 400m and the 200m was held up for clear running.

Tarbert – Began awkwardly and, from a wide barrier, was shifted behind runners in the early stages.

Handle The Truth – Shortly after the start was bumped by Bobbing, which shifted out.

Star Boy – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.

Up Trumpz – Stewards permitted M. Zahra to ride the gelding ½ kilogram over its allotted weight of 56 kilograms. From a wide barrier, was shifted behind runners in the early stages. Near the 1000m was steadied to avoid the heels of Suncraze, which after being taken in slightly by Belflyer shifted in away from that runner. Up Trumpz then overraced in the early stages.

Awesome Pluck – Stewards permitted J. Parr to ride the gelding 1 kilogram over its allotted weight of 55 kilograms. Raced keenly in the middle stages.

Notation – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider J. McDonald advised that in his opinion today's Good (3) surface was too firm for the mare and that she would appreciate a more forgiving track. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr M. Dale stated that in his view the mare raced a little keen with blinkers back on and, together with today's Good (3) track, was not able to finish the race off as expected. Mr Dale undertook to report back to the Stewards on the future race plans and the condition of Notation subsequent to the race.

Press Box – In the early stages of the straight laid in and proved reluctant to shift to the outside of Awesome Pluck. Near the 150m was inconvenienced when it shifted away from Awesome Pluck when that runner was taken out by Bobbing.

Luna Mia – Crowded on jumping between Press Box and Don't Give A Damn, which shifted out. When questioned regarding his riding in the straight, T. Clark stated that, after following Don’t Give A Damn and Notation he held a position between those runners to provide himself options in the straight. He said that when Notation did not improve as he expected, he elected to shift to that runner's inside searching for clear running and his decision to do so was also influenced when Star Boy, which had raced wide also held its ground in the early stages of the straight. He stated that when Notation then commenced to give ground he attempted to improve to that runner's inside behind Don't Give A Damn, but could not obtain clear running until near the 50m, when he was sufficiently clear to shift out, and as a result Luna Mia was held up from the 400m until that point.

RACE 6: Camera House Sydney Stakes 1200m:

Home Of The Brave – Near the 25m Deprive (H. Bowman) shifted in resulting in Champagne Cuddles being bumped and taken in, making contact with Brutal, which was then taken across the running of Home Of The Brave, which was steadied. H. Bowman was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

Brave Song – Between the 350m and the 200m was held up for clear running, and again between the 100m and 50m could not be tested when held up for clear running.

Dothraki – A post-race veterinary examination revealed Dothraki to have bled from both nostrils for the first time. Co-trainer Mr P. Snowden was advised of the provisions of AR79(4).

Easy Eddie – Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. On straightening became unbalanced when bumped by Brutal (T. Berry), which shifted out to improve. T. Berry was advised to exercise more care.

Deprive – After being fractious in the barriers, began awkwardly and was then shifted behind runners from a wide barrier in the early stages.

Kaspersky – Slow to begin. Near the 800m brushed the running rail when being steadied from the heels of Brave Song. Over the final 50m was held up on the heels of Jonker and could not be tested.

Jonker – Made contact with the offside partition of its barrier on jumping resulting in Jonker and rider G. Boss becoming unbalanced. Near the 600m Brutal commenced to race keenly and had to be steadied from the heels of Sir Plush. As a result, Brutal shifted in abruptly resulting in Jonker having to be steadied and losing ground. Stewards determined that the racing manners of Brutal were the main contributor to the interference occurring. Near the 300m was steadied when racing tight to the inside of Redouble, which improved to the inside of Sir Plush.

Sandbar – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.

Champagne Cuddles – Near the 600m was steadied from the heels of Easy Eddie when racing tight to the inside of Sandbar. Between the 350m and the 300m Champagne Cuddles was held up for clear running. Stewards considered a protest lodged by N. Rawiller, the rider of the 2nd placegetter Champagne Cuddles, against Deprive being declared the winner, alleging interference over the final 50 metres. After considering the evidence, Stewards found that Deprive had improved from a position behind Champagne Cuddles to have headed it near the 75m before then shifting in and making contact with Champagne Cuddles near the 30m, resulting in Champagne Cuddles becoming slightly unbalanced. As Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that had this incident not occurred Champagne Cuddles would have finished in advance of Deprive, the protest was dismissed.

Fiesta – Slow to begin. Between the 350m and the 200m was held up for clear running.

RACE 7: The TAB Everest 1200m:

Pierata – Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 350m and the 250m before improving to the inside of Redzel.

Trekking – Near the 500m commenced to race keenly and was steadied from the heels of Yes Yes Yes.

Classique Legend – Near the 600m commenced to race keenly and was steadied from the heels of Arcadia Queen, which shifted out. From the 400m until the 175m was held up for clear running. Approaching the 150m Classique Legend endeavoured to improve between Alizee and Santa Ana Lane, but was disappointed when Santa Ana Lane (M. Zahra) shifted in resulting in Classique Legend having to be steadied and shifted to the outside of Santa Ana Lane where it obtained clear running near the 100m. M. Zahra was advised to exercise more care.

Ten Sovereigns – When questioned regarding the performance, rider R. Moore advised that he elected to settle the horse where comfortable and, as a result, raced in a position towards the back of the field. He stated that Ten Sovereigns did not travel comfortably with him and, leaving the 600m, when the field commenced to turn Yes Yes Yes shifted out taking his mount wider and from this point Ten Sovereigns was unable to finish the race off and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Stewards will follow up on the post-race condition of Ten Sovereigns in the days subsequent.

Alizee – Bumped at the start by Ten Sovereigns, which jumped awkwardly and shifted in. Raced wide and without cover throughout the early and middle stages.

Sunlight – On jumping was bumped by Trekking, which shifted out. Near the 600m was bumped by Redzel, which shifted in. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider L. Currie advised that the mare showed good speed early and he allowed Nature Strip to cross near the 700m at which stage he followed that runner. He added that, once crossed, Sunlight continued to travel well, but soon after straightening came under pressure and the mare then failed to respond to his riding and disappointed in the run to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Co-trainer Mr T. McEvoy was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance. He said he will assess the filly in the days subsequent and report back to Stewards in relation to the mare's condition and future race plans.

In Her Time – Hung out rounding the home turn.

Arcadia Queen – Near the 200m Arcadia Queen had to be checked when crowded between In Her Time and Redzel, which shifted out slightly. In the incident Arcadia Queen was taken out on to the hindquarter of In Her Time resulting in In Her Time becoming unbalanced. K. McEvoy, the rider of Redzel, was reprimanded. When questioned regarding the performance of the mare, rider J. McDonald stated that from its good barrier he obtained a position on the speed, but in his opinion this did not suit Arcadia Queen as it was not able to sustain a finishing effort. He added that in his opinion Arcadia Queen is better suited being ridden more conservatively and would also appreciate being stepped up in distance. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr C. Waller was asked to report back on the post-race condition of the mare.

Yes Yes Yes – Laid in over the final 200 metres.

RACE 8: Yulong Australia Craven Plate 2000m:

Happy Clapper – Raced wide and without cover until near the 1100m when rider T. Berry allowed the gelding to stride forward and lead.

Life Less Ordinary – When questioned regarding the gelding settling back in the field, rider H. Bowman stated that he had expected to be more forward, but with the strong early pace Life Less Ordinary settled at the rear of the field where it was comfortable. Between the 350m and the 200m did not secure clear running when endeavouring to improve into a tight run between Samadoubt and Tally.

Stampede – Slow to begin.

Danzdanzdance – The mare, which sustained cuts to its nearside hip on the walker this morning, was examined by the club's veterinarian and deemed suitable to race.

Patrick Erin – Between the 350m and the 200m was held up for clear running when being shifted to the outside of Sir Charles Road and Azuro to obtain clear running.

Carzoff – From a wide barrier, shifted behind runners in the early stages.

Youngstar – Soon after entering the straight was held up for clear running between Carif and Come Play With Me. Youngstar was then held up for clear running until near the 150m where it secured clear running between those two runners.

Valac – Was leaning on the nearside partition of the barrier and began awkwardly. Rider M. Zahra was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out to the finish of the race.

Azuro – Slow to begin and was then hampered by Carif, which shifted out.

Carif – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.

Hyeronimus stated that the gelding travelled comfortably in the lead, but shortened stride when pressured in the straight and, in his opinion, did not appreciate today's Good (3) conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed Penske to be lame (1/5) in the near foreleg. Co-trainer Mr A. Bott was advised that he will be required to provide a veterinary clearance prior to the gelding's next race start.
