McEvoy stays with the red army and Redzel

Two-times The Everest winning jockey Kerrin McEvoy has decided to stay with the Snowden trained Redzel for the 2019 renewal of The Everest (1200m) four days after he partnered the only Everest winner to a dominate win in the Group 3 Concorde Stakes over 1000m at Randwick and on the same day that he rode fellow Everest contender Classique Legend to a trial win at Randwick.

Triple Crown Syndicates, who manage the seven-year-old Snitzel gelding, reported that McEvoy had made his decision committing to ride Redzel in the rich invitation race. Redzel has a large ownership group who have enjoyed 15 wins and stakes earnings of $15.64 million.

Nash Rawiller, fresh off a four-timer at Randwick on Saturday and currently leading the Sydney premiership, will ride the Les Bridge trained four-year-old Classique Legend in The Everest.

Redzel is at $7.00 with TAB's market to make it a triple Everest while Classique Legend is at $8.00. Santa Ana Lane is the current favourite at $5.00.
